This will be tested in several small proofs of concept where there is nobody getting real votes - and there will be government-level orgs trying to break the system. No nationwide launches.
The great thing about cell phone voting is that it is inevitable. young people live on their phones and will demand it and the politicos will just have to do it someday. We are showing a project of how it can be done.
Excellent idea. The first time I heard about this idea, it was from Patrick Byrne and combined with blockchain technology. Must get politicians out of counting our votes!
I've had this discussion, not only in this form but many others - see eiprotocol.org. In every argument you hear, "not everyone has a ..." In this case it's a phone. It will take someone smarter than me to get passed that. It's the same argument you hear for voter ID...
"Is the state going to issue free cell phones so you can vote?" I can hear the objections a mile away.
Note: they aren't my objections. I'm all in on electronic voting from a reliable system, not like what we have now. I'm also all in on cell phone voting. But Democrats in CO say 'no' to everything that would make our election system more honest. I doubt they even read the proposals.
Personally, I do very little on my phone besides calls and text. I wouldn't want to try voting a two page ballot on a 4" screen. Will you receive a receipt for how you voted? And ranked choice races, how are those managed? I'm sure there are answers for my reluctance, but for now I would like to see clean voter rolls and vote in person w/ ID.

This can only be accomplished if Trump gets behind it 100%. Can the plant be tested in one state before a nationwide launch?
Test it in Oregon, home of vote by mail.
